RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Rare Bird Trading Company (http://www.rarebirdtrading.com) has announced that it hosted a reception along with the North Carolina China Center (NCCC) (http://www.ncchinacenter.org/), which, like Rare Bird Trading Company, is housed at the World Trade Park in the headquarters building of Longistics (http://www.longistics.com), for members of the China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) delegation and area business leaders on Dec. 13 to celebrate products from the state that recently have been exported for sale in the Asian nation. CIPA is a division of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce that organizes and promotes inbound and outbound foreign investment.

SUZHOU, CHINA – Longistics, a full-service provider of global logistics solutions, and Rare Bird Trading Company today celebrated the opening of the Suzhou Industrial Park International Commodities Exhibition Center, where North Carolina and U.S.-based companies will exhibit their products. N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue and a delegation of North Carolina business leaders and officials were on hand to commemorate the event.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Longistics, a full-service provider of global logistics solutions (http://www.longistics.com), has announced that the North Carolina China Center (http://www.ncchinacenter.org) has appointed four company executives to its 2011 board members and executive team. Pat Long, vice chairman and co-creator; Lisa Yuan, manager of global business development; and Brooks Long, director of special projects all have joined the NCCC Board of Directors. Longistics chairman and co-creator Duane Long, who has served on the NCCC board as the chairman since its inception in 2006, was reappointed to the board. Duane Long and his wife, Pat, established Longistics in 1984. Yuan joined the company in 2009 as marketing analyst before assuming her present position.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Tom Martineau, president of the North Carolina China Center, has announced that Luke Treloar has been named executive director of the Center. Treloar, who serves as director of the Center’s Beijing office and is manager of the Hamner-China Biosciences Center, will serve as a liaison between state and Chinese partners, promote economic growth and invest in the working relationships to ensure positive partnerships. He will oversee future project endeavors as put forth by the North Carolina China Center.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – The North Carolina China Center, housed at the World Trade Park in the headquarters building of Longistics, hosted members of the China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) delegation for a nine-hole golf tournament at Brier Creek Country Club benefitting the nonprofit NCCC on June 27. The golf tournament was the culmination of a summit for CIPA delegation members along with area business leaders to promote business and technology development and collaboration between North Carolina and China. CIPA is a division of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce that organizes and promotes inbound and outbound foreign investment.
